GILROY, CA — Gilroy City Councilmember Dion Bracco announced Wednesday that he will run for another term this November.
Bracco has served on the council since 2005 and has since been re-elected three times.
In a statement, Bracco called "maintaining Gilroy values" a top priority and claimed the current seven-member council is "carefully balanced between common-sense members and those who support a more radical agenda."
"I endorse traditional Gilroy values that embrace faith, family, and work," Bracco said. "I oppose the agenda of political extremists who promote policies that have created a tax, crime, and homelessness nightmare in other parts of California."
Bracco added that Gilroy is still recovering from the pandemic and that his other priorities include strengthening the economy, enhancing public safety, expanding housing and overcoming homelessness.
"Our city requires proven leadership that recognizes the need to embrace business-friendly policies that create jobs, a law-and-order approach that deters crime, and solutions to the homeless crisis that actually reduce the homeless population, not increase it," Bracco said.
