HILLSBORO, OR — As far as the Washington County Sheriff's Office is concerned, Mando is a very good boy. The 3-year-old German shepherd-Belgian Malinois mix is a K-9 deputy with the office and played a key role in a large drug seizure on Tuesday. Mando is named for The Mandolorian in the Star Wars universe. A traffic stop led to the recovery of 54 pounds of methamphetamine, as well as 3,000 blue "M30" oxycodone pills that deputies believe are counterfeit and contain fentanyl. The driver, whose name was not released, was arrested. Officials have not said what charges that the driver faces or any other details about the person. Deputies followed the car along with officers from the Beaverton Police Department, officials said. The car attracted interest as part of an investigation into what officials called "a countywide drug trafficking organization."
