Dakota County To Host 'Gear Swapping' Event

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — Dakota County announced that it is hosting a gear-swapping event for residents to trade outdoor gear. The event will take place April 30 from 1–3 p.m. at Dakota Lodge in Thompson County Park in West St. Paul, according to the county. Acceptable items to bring include tents, backpacks, camping gear and outdoor clothing, according to the county. Anything in the "swap area" will be up for grabs, the county said. Last year's event had 27 attendees who brought 71 items to swap, the county said. 428 pounds of outdoor gear found a new home instead of being thrown out, according to Dakota County.
