The "Cavaliers Live" co-host will be attending the bus pull event from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and will be signing autographs. Campy Russell was honored this year with induction into the Cavs Wall of Honor. Campy was named to one NBA All-Star team, the Cavs' All-Time Team, 2014 Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame, and to this day is top ten in six categories for the Cavaliers. While his NBA accomplishments are numerous he is considered one of the organization's greatest individuals as evidenced by his commitment to appear at the Buses for Bags event. Bulldog Bags, Inc. is still recruiting teams for the Buses for Bags event, which will take place on April 30 from fro11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. Teams of 10 may sign up to compete against each other to see who can pull a bus 40 feet the quickest. To sign up your team, go to Sign Up Genius and search by the email [email protected]. You can also email [email protected] for a QR code or if you have any questions. All proceeds from the April 30th event will go directly to Bulldog Bags, Inc. Many local businesses and organizations have committed their support to this event, including the City of Stow, Stow Smiles, Thompson Electric, Target, Marhofer Auto Group, and Berkshire Hathaway Home Services. The event is family-oriented, with activities such as bouncy houses from Barker Family Entertainment, a princess and superhero meet and greet thanks to Party People, LLC, an onsite paint battle tent provided by The Family Room in Stow, and a carnival area hosted by the Interact Club of the Stow-Munroe Falls Rotary. Plan to attend the event with an appetite! Food will be for sale from the following vendors: Dr. Hibachi's Food Truck, Fabi's Taco Truck, Rowdy Beans Coffee Roasters, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Dairy Queen, and the SMF Boosters Fry Truck. The goal of this event is to help feed those in need, so Giant Eagle will have a stand where you can buy items to "Stuff the Bus" and help those in need. You can also bring non-perishable food items to the event such as macaroni and cheese, oatmeal packets, and Ramen noodle packets. For a full list of needed items please visit bulldogbags.org and look under food drives. "Bulldogs Bags is a wonderful organization that serves an unmet need in our community", stated Stow Mayor John Pribonic. "I wholeheartedly support the Buses for Bags event and encourage local businesses, families, and organizations to sign up a team and support this cause!!" Bulldog Bags, Inc. is celebrating its sixth year of existence and is proud of their expansion that they have been able to do from packing one bag for a child in need to packing over 600 bags every other week for children within the Stow-Munroe Falls City School District. As Bulldog Bags, Inc. noticed the need growing, they came up with the Bulldog Box program, which packs boxes in the summer when children are at home for all their meals, containing fresh, frozen, and non-perishable foods in family-size portions to help families stretch their budgets. Unfortunately, the need has continued to grow. This year Bulldog Bags, Inc. has expanded the services it provides to not only the school district, but now to the community at large of Stow and Munroe Falls, including the daycare centers within Stow, with a pilot program serving a box of food once a month for anyone within the Stow-Munroe Falls City School District. The continuation of this program will depend on a variety of factors varying from overall demand to the sustainability. Bulldog Bags, Inc. hopes that the Buses for Bags event will become their annual flagship event to raise funds for the services they provide. This press release was produced by the City of Stow.
