Press release from the Town of Davidson: April 12, 2022 Complete survey and attend upcoming public input session The Town of Davidson invites residents and other community members to attend one of several upcoming public input sessions and offer their input on American Rescue Plan Act funding. An online survey is also available beginning today, April 12 through May 7. ABOUT ARPA The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) was passed into law on March 11, 2021. This law includes the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund, which provides $19.53 billion to support tens of thousands of non-entitlement units of local government. These local governments typically serve a population under 50,000 and include the Town of Davidson. Davidson is projected to receive $4.16 million by July 2022. The town aims to provide the highest and best use of this one-time federally provided funding and offer a plan that will provide transformational and high value impact for the community. The town has established a series of Guiding Principles and seeks to offer support in one or more of the following areas: Affordable Living and Housing, Critical Infrastructure, Historic Storytelling/Restorative Justice, Mental Health Response, and Sustainability. ARPA ONLINE SURVEY The Town of Davidson has developed an online survey to collect feedback from residents about how they would like to see the town allocate its ARPA funding. To complete the survey, please click on the link here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DavidsonARPA. Please note that the town does not collect or store identifying information; a field requesting a respondent to input their email address is simply used to limit responses to one per person. ARPA Public Input Sessions The Town of Davidson is offering several public input opportunities that are open to residents and other members of the community. These events are dispersed geographically throughout town, and the town will also be offering a virtual and outdoor option for those who may not be able to return to indoor in-person meetings just yet. We hope many of you will be able to attend and provide feedback that will help guide the allocation of funds for transformational projects in the Town of Davidson. Questions?
