UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — In a win for those who enjoy warm weather, eating outside, and views of the Hudson River — Ellington in the Park is reopening in Riverside Park on Monday. It will be the seventh year in a row the establishment serves customers from wooden benches in the park near West 105th Street. The WestSideRag was the first publication to report on the reopening. Ellington in the Park replaced the former Hudson Beach Cafe. It has a top-level bar made from a repurposed shipping container and a lower-level lounging area where you can also order food and drinks while playing volleyball, soccer, or glide across the rings. "Perfect for any summer evening drink or dinner," Ellington writes on its website. Its menu offers casual classics, including pretzel bites, quesadillas, hot dogs, fish tacos, buffalo wings, chicken tenders, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pizza, fries and more. Ellington in the Park also has an expansive kid's menu. In terms of adult drinks, there is draft beer, wine, and 16-ounce cocktails that include margaritas, Aperol spritzes, and sangria. The owner of the Riverside Park establishment also owns The Ellington at 2745 Broadway (near West 105th Street). The outdoor venue is expected to remain open through November.
