PHOENIX, AZ — A mother is dead, a 4-year-old girl is in extremely critical condition and a teen driver was arrested after a Tuesday night crash in Phoenix, according to police. Eulalio Juarez Rodriguez, 18, was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and is being held in Maricopa County Jail. As of Wednesday morning, no bond had been set, according to jail records. Police did not release the identities of the mother and her daughter. The mother died at the scene and the girl was taken to a local hospital. Rodriguez is accused of driving a Camaro faster than 115 mph on Southern Avenue just seconds before the crash that killed the woman, according to police. He was going 88 mph half of a second before the Camaro hit the Hyundai that the mother and daughter were in, police said. The speed limit on that stretch of road is 45 mph. The impact happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of 32nd and Southern avenues.
