GREENWICH, CT — As Connecticut residents continue to grapple with the spread of the new coronavirus, causing many events scheduled for the spring to be postponed or canceled, one annual Greenwich event is moving into new territory. Last week, the Greenwich International Film Festival announced all of the organization's physical events have been postponed "for the foreseeable future." In light of this, the 2020 main festival will still go on...or rather, online. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.) The organization's first ever Virtual Greenwich International Film Festival will be held May 1-3, during which audience members can bring the festival experience into their own home. "Since its inception, GIFF has faced adversity head on and pushed the boundaries of what is possible," the festival said in a statement. "This is uncharted territory for us, and yet an opportunity to try something new with our community of supporters, filmmakers, staff and volunteers. We hope you will join us for the virtual festival!"
