ATLANTA, GA — It's not every day that a 911 call comes in from someone worried that a roaming rooster near a Kentucky Fried Chicken might create a traffic problem. However, that kind of call did, in fact, take place Monday morning in South Fulton. South Fulton police assumed it was all a joke initially. Around 8:15 a.m., the police department said it received a call sent over from the Atlanta Police Department regarding a rooster in the middle of Cascade Road in front of the KFC. "We thought it was maybe a prank call, why would a rooster be hanging out in front of a place that fried chicken?" police said in a Facebook post. But it was no prank. A South Fulton officer decided to investigate anyway and to his surprise, there was indeed a rooster in the median in front of KFC. Unfortunately, the rooster was too quick for the officer and was last seen running into the KFC parking lot — not to be seen again. The big question is: WHY was this rooster attempting to cross the road near an Atlanta-area KFC in the first place? Was he trying to rescue his fellow birds from inside the restaurant? Was he trying to stage an anti-chicken protest? We may never know for sure.
