GREENWICH, CT — A Maserati parked on Bedford Road in Greenwich was reported stolen Wednesday, according to police. Capt. Mark Zuccerella said the vehicle was left unlocked with a key fob inside. It was later recovered in Waterbury, however an investigation is ongoing, Zuccerella said. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.) Additionally, a wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a private club on Round Hill Club Road on Monday. The owner of the wallet told officers the doors to the vehicle were locked, however the vehicle was not damaged, Zuccerella said. Late last month, the department urged residents to always remove their keys, fobs and other valuables from their vehicles and lock their car doors, even if the vehicle is parked on their property. "The thieves do not care about property rights, walls or gates," Zuccerella said. "If you are a dealership or commercial entity that has vehicles as an inventory or for repair, please lock the keys for the vehicles in a secure area within the building away from any doors that can provide easy access."
