GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich High School students used creative technology to recognize and celebrate veterans this year during the school's first virtual Veterans Day panel discussion event.
Frank Kovac, the school's program associate for social studies, recently organized the discussion, which was led by students Fiona Busch, Wyatt Radzin and Hadley Rosenberg, according to a news release. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
"The students not only asked meaningful questions of our veterans," Kovac said in a statement, "but were able to smoothly navigate the technology of our virtual platform."
Panel members consisted of veterans Lieutenant Commander James Waters, Captain Matthew Carstensen and Major Timothy Rose, all of whom had local ties to Greenwich and shared stories of their service, district officials said.
The virtual Veterans Day event not only recognized and celebrated the service of local veterans, but can also be used as a reference for any student interested in military service as a career path, according to district officials.
The panel discussion can be viewed in its entirety on the district website.
