Good with tools? Not afraid of heights? Apex Exteriors, Inc. is looking for experienced roofers to join our team. We are located in South Elgin, IL and offer competitive wages and benefits. To succeed in this role, you should have the ability to use hand tools, such as shingle cutters and roofing hatchets, and stand on ladders and scaffolds for long hours at a time. You’ll also know how to handle materials (e.g. wood, asphalt) for different roofing styles and tasks. QUALIFICATIONS: • Construction safety certification such as OSHA training is a plus • Physical fitness level that will allow for quick movement, climbing, bending and lifting heavy loads • Previous experience in roofing, construction or related scope of work • Communication and teamwork skills including an openness to receiving feedback from superiors • General knowledge of roofing procedures, techniques and specialties • Strong work ethic and desire to perform quality work • Endurance to spend hours working in extreme weather conditions such as heat or cold • Must have own hand tools. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Deliver projects within timeline • Follow safety rules • Transport and load/unload roofing materials in truck • Lay new roofing materials such as asphalt, wood, steel and plastics • Inspect roofing for damage and perform any needed repairs • Clean rooftops by removing leaves, ice and other debris • Install insulation materials underneath roofs • Use of hand tools BENEFITS: • Health, Dental And Vision Insurance • 401K • Holiday Pay • Performance Bonus Program • All equipment, gas and tools provided • Hourly pay or Piecework available
