ROCKVILLE, MD — A 26-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting two teenagers while he was an assistant varsity football coach for Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville.
Christopher Papadopoulos, of Gaithersburg, was arrested Monday evening and slapped with multiple charges, including sexual abuse of a minor, according to Montgomery County police.
Papadopoulous served as an assistant varsity coach for Wootton between 2016 to 2020. It was during that time he sexually abused the two football players, according to authorities.
Police said they began investigating Papadopoulos on Feb. 28 and learned that he sexually abused the first victim on multiple occasions and sexually abused and solicited the second victim.
The sexual assaults did not happen on school property, according to police.
Authorities say they're concerned that there could be additional victims and ask any who believes that he or she is a victim to call 240-773-5400.
