James E. John Construction Co., Inc., a full-service Commercial Construction Company headquartered in Vancouver, WA has an immediate opening for a Commercial Construction Foreman. We are a family owned company looking to add to our team. Candidates must possess a minimum of 6+ years’ experience working in commercial construction as a carpenter or foreman. Grocery construction a plus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Promotes safety and site cleanliness on job site and implements, enforces, and effectively manages JEJ safety policies and procedures. • Assist superintendent with the scheduling and coordination of subcontractors and in-house labor/carpentry. • Manage as built drawings through the course of the project, as RFI’s and ASI’s are released. The as-built set will be kept on site and be redlined and updated as changes occur. • Be the front line for quality control to ensure that scope items are installed correctly per plans and specificatons, and to a high standard of quality. • Layout for in house and trade work. • Assist with receiving, inspecting and inventory of material. • Can fill in for superintendent as needed. Foreman must have intimate knowledge of the project scope, trades and schedule. • Update project photos weekly, and as needed for documentation of critical tasks. Desired candidate must be goal driven, project focused, ability to work in a team environment, detailed, organized, be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, excellent at communicating clearly and effectively in both verbal and written form, ability to identify complex problems and determine appropriate course of action, knowledgeable in methods, techniques, tools, and principals used in commercial construction. Candidate must possess good computer skills and be able to use Bluebeam. Candidate must have the required experience.
