' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' I'm a student of guitar looking for other novices to practice with at a local cafe, fast-food or any venue that's usually empty in the morning till about 2:PM when I need a nap. Former Bow Wow Wow member has a funk/soul group with positions open. There are no age or look requirements. You must have chops and familiarity in the realm of this type of music. Experience in your field is preferred. Soul swagger is a big "plus". Like Badu, The Roots, Stevie Wonder, and Billy Preston, we put it down! This is a bad assed group putting flavor back into sleepy Ventura. This is not a "mustang sally" or "respect" singing type of band. We leave that stuff to be performed poorly by others. Please don't text me, just use a phone and cal As my interests in music grew, I ventured into extreme metal, and have spent many years as a death metal vocalist—my main inspirations were Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation and Jordan James Phillip of Disentomb. As time has gone on, I’ve started to lean back into my past, and find myself interested in exploring music in the vein of Black Sabbath, Motorhead, and even new acts like Ghost, Heavy Sentence, and Venator. While I still love extreme metal, which will always be an influence for me, I have a certain vision of misanthropy that requires a different sort of delivery. Not looking for a high pressure situation. Looking for people with good songwriting and some up-tempo songs. A few slow tunes is ok but if your band is built around slow songs I'm not it. I think I'm looking for people who have experience playing out and recording, I think.
