Lost my Apple AirPods - not in case

I know they're not in the case and the batteries have died because they're not showing up in Find My AirPods. They're currently in Lost Mode so if anyone tries to steal them and use them they'll be useless to only my phone. Very upset because there's were a gift and nothing that I could ever afford to replace. Hopefully they turn up somewhere. Thank you
