It seems to me that when democrats are caught wrongdoing they are more easily coaxed to step down usually by their own party. When republicans are caught doing wrong it seems to me republican circle their wagons and defend the criminal. They go so far as to lie and cover up the truth rather that to remove the bad apple. The best example is trump. If it wern't for his republican enablers Trump would have been impeached and probably would be sitting in jail. Instead the spineless republican statesman deny what we all saw on 1/6/2020 and all of trump's other crimes such as trying to shake down Zilensky and Ukraine to dig up dirt on Hunter Biden. (which by the way sent the signal to Russia the US under trump's leadership did not care about Ukraine.) Trump himself pardoned his convicted criminal friends, so much for ethics in the party of trump. It is too bad that there are only a handful of republicans who have the ethics and integrity to do the right thing.
