You're invited to a forum on housing and homelessness in Benton and Franklin Counties!
The 2022 Benton-Franklin Community Health Needs Assessment is underway, and we need to hear your voice! The focus of this event is to understand housing and homelessness in our community. We plan to present data to show what we know, discuss gaps, and prioritize improvement actions. The purpose of this forum is twofold. The 2020 Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) identifies a gap in knowledge around community needs regarding housing and homelessness. CHIP objective 1.1.3 under Social Determinants of Health is to “Complete a comprehensive housing assessment to develop baseline for measuring and tracking individuals experiencing homelessness and also for the availability of affordable housing in Benton and Franklin counties.” Our team has contracted with Dr. Patrick Jones, the Executive Director of the Institute of Public Policy and Economic Analysis at Eastern Washington University, to conduct this comprehensive housing and homelessness needs assessment. This assessment will not only help us complete an action from the 2020 CHIP, but the results of this assessment will inform the development of the 2023 CHIP priorities.
This partnership committee of Benton-Franklin Health District, Benton-Franklin Community Health Alliance, Kadlec Regional Medical Center, Prosser Memorial Health, United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties, Greater Columbia Accountable Communities of Health, and Eastern Washington University welcomes you in attending one of two forums.
