Gentrification in North and Northeast Portland has created significant cultural, economic and community changes. These changes have caused a dismantling of Portland’s historical Black community. Caught in the grips of these changes is the church. Because of the drastic community shifts the African American church finds itself attempting to minister in a strange land. On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, Pastors will have a chance to talk to one another. Talk about the challenges caused by gentrification. Talk to gain a better understanding of our collective struggle. Talk to discuss strategies to help our churches thrive in a complex situation. And talk to God for his continual guidance and strength. Please save the date Hope you will be there.
