TOMS RIVER, NJ — If you're looking for a special evening out as New Jersey eases coronavirus restrictions, head to downtown Toms River on Friday evening for Downtown Night Out. Downtown Night Out is an effort to promote the outdoor dining in Toms River every Friday evening through the end of August. The effort is being led by the Downtown Toms River Business Improvement District. "Restaurants throughout the district will be open for outdoor dining and a section of Washington Street will be closed for some to expand their outdoor dining," business improvement district officials said in announcing the Downtown Night Out program. Washington Street will be closed from Main Street to Robbins Street, and the Downtown Night Out will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The business improvement district has a list of participating restaurants; diners should call to make reservations. Patrons are urged to adhere to all social distancing guidelines. The Downtown Toms River Business Improvement District website will be updated weekly with participating restaurants.
