Insights into available funding opportunities in our community and how to apply. Get inside the heads of local decision-makers for several organizations that fund in the Greater Springfield area. Learn how these leaders view the issues facing our region, how they make strategic funding decisions and determine desired outcomes, what they really want from their non-profit partners, and how you can more successfully position your organization for funding. Meeting: 3rd floor Board Room ABOUT THE FUNDERS Susan Carey has been with the Springfield Foundation for the past 15 years and currently serves as the Director of Grants and Scholarships. Susan obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business from Miami University. Suzie serves on the Women’s Partnership Funds board and as the co-chair of the WPF Grants and Research Committee. For the past 21 years, she’s been a member of Sigma Alpha Sorority, Beta Psi chapter where she serves as the Chair of the Charity Committee and served at the national level as National President from 2013 to 2014. Susan resides in Springfield, Ohio with her husband, daughters, and 2 mini-Goldendoodles, Gemma and Obi. Fortunately, her son is now self-supporting and resides in Columbus. When she’s not working Susan enjoys paper crafting, reading, and outings with family and friends. Joan Elder is the Program Coordinator for the Community Health Foundation (CHF) and a member of the Springfield City School Board. Having worked in foundations since 2008, Joan has been an event planner, done community outreach, launched initiatives, and managed grant programs. The best part of her work is when a community need is met with opportunities to make meaningful change. At CHF, that means supporting non-profits that address health and well-being: from clinical services to addressing food insecurity to being sure kids can go to camp. Mallory Wilkins joined the Park National Bank team in 2014 as a Management Associate. She has worked as a Banking Center Manager, Freedom Years Director, and most recently as our Community Relations Coordinator for the Central and West Central Regions.
