We hope you will join us and also meet Tina Courpas, Executive Director of The Hellenic Initiative.The Hellenic Initiative is a 501c3 global non-profit organization that brings together Diaspora Greeks and Philhellenes to invest in the future of Greece through programs focused on crisis relief, entrepreneurship, and economic development.Panelists will discuss how Hellenism has impacted their professional careers and decision making processes in work. Marily is also an Executive Fellow at Harvard Business School. Marily holds a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from Imperial College London and outside her day role, she mentors entrepreneurs, serves as an advisor to early stage tech startups, and also empowers people that want to break into tech & product in multiple ways. Marily has co-founded 3 women in tech communities including the Greek Women do tech and has received international recognition after delivering 3 TEDx talks, receiving the Woman of the Year 2018 Award (everywoman) and the Women in Science and Engineering Influence Award 2015 for her contributions. Andreas Stavropoulos invests in consumer and enterprise infrastructure, mobility, and technology-enabled services. He currently serves on the boards of Balena, CircleCI, Diamanti, Forward Networks, Mythic, NumberAI, and Tango, and supports Zymergen (NASDAQ:ZY). Past investments include Appstream (Symantec), Centerpost (West Corp.), Epocrates (NASDAQ: ATHN), Everdream (Dell), Lexent Bio (Foundation Medicine), Mobile 365 (Sybase), Meetup (WeWork), Silverpop (IBM), Vizu (Nielsen), and Yodle (Web.com). At their core, all of his investments have a platform element. Andreas believes that if entrepreneurs do things correctly and build a springboard, they can solve problems and quickly escalate the value they put into the ecosystem. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Harvard University in computer science, along with an MA degree, and was first in his class at Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar. He previously worked for McKinsey & Company and Cornerstone Research. Dr. Fay Christodoulou is the Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer of Miroculus Inc. Dr. Christodoulou completed her PhD degree at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg, Germany. Her work on RNA biology and evolutionary developmental biology has been published in Nature, Cell and Science. She was awarded the 1st prize of SFEE innovation project for her scientific contribution and has been recognized as 9th in the list of Top 25 Women Leaders in Biotechnology by Healthcare Technology Review. Dr. Christodoulou was selected to join the Endeavor global network of high – impact entrepreneurs, thus becoming Endeavor Greece’s 3rd female Entrepreneur. Konstantine Buhler is a partner at Sequoia Capital, where he focuses on seed and early-stage investments. He works with a number of portfolio companies, including Citadel Securities, CaptivateIQ, Ethos and Kumo.ai. Prior to Sequoia, Konstantine was an investor at Meritech Capital, where he focused on enterprise software and data-first businesses. He’s also worked at RelateIQ, McKinsey, and The Pritzker Group, and previously founded and ran a non-governmental organization for seven years. Konstantine earned his BS, MS and MBA from Stanford University, where he helped launch several classmates' startups. His life hero is his pappou, after whom he is named. Mikey Kailis is a Senior Associate & Head of Operations at Counterpart Ventures. A VC from Perth, West Australia now based in San Francisco. Building the vision for Counterpart Ventures, a stage-agnostic fund located in SF investing in enterprise & mid-market B2B SaaS, IoT and marketplace technologies.
