From chipmunks and quail, to orcas and moose, and everything in between. ___________________________ This recruitment is for one (1) full-time, seasonal, Senior Park Aide position at Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail located in Kittitas County, Washington. This seasonal position is scheduled from March 1st (3/01) - October 31st (10/31), yearly. Duties: Under the supervision of the Central Cascades Area Equipment Operator Supervisor, this position is essential to state parks mission of operating, enhancing, and protecting our Parks' recreational, cultural, historical, and natural sites. This position will assist and contribute towards all aspects of park operations and will lead work responsibilities. A typical work day may include anything from cleaning restrooms, maintaining facilities, performing grounds maintenance and minor repairs on roads, trail heads, and primitive campgrounds. -Lead Park Aides. -Daily inspection and cleaning of comfort stations, vault toilets, kitchen/picnic shelters, and other agency facilities and grounds. -Perform grounds maintenance -Provide clean environments for park users by keeping grounds free of litter, debris, or illegal garbage dumps, etc. -Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and vehicles. -General repair and maintenance of buildings, facilities, equipment, and utility systems. -Maintain Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail right of way area using mowers, weed eaters, trimmers, and various other tools. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: -Twelve (12) months of experience in building maintenance or grounds keeping, or performing semi-skilled/general carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing repair work. OR -Six (6) months cumulative experience as a Park Aide (or equivalent) OR -Twelve (12) months experience in a special employment program (Washington Conservation Corps) with a parks agency. A combination of experience (WCC and Park Aide) may be used provided candidate has at least three months experience as a Park Aide (or equivalent). AND -A valid unrestricted (except for corrective lenses) driver's license. -At least 18 years old.
