TOMS RIVER, NJ - A Camden County woman has been accused of stealing money from her Grammy Award-winning husband, formerly of Toms River, in a scheme that directed music royalty checks to her instead of to him. Erin Seal, 35, of Lindenwold, has been charged with theft following an investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Economic Crimes Unit. According to officials, Seal had music royalty checks intended for her estranged husband, Manuel Seal, 60, formerly of Toms River, for his work as a Grammy Award winning songwriter and producer, forwarded directly to her. Seal then had a family member cash the checks under the guise that she was lawfully entitled to them and used fake emails from her husband to support her claim. From May 2018 through April 2020, Seal fraudulently received approximately $100,000, officials said. On Wednesday, Seal turned herself in to Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Economic Crimes Unit.
