TOMS RIVER, NJ — A water main break has prompted traffic detours on Kettle Creek Road in Toms River on Tuesday, a water company spokeswoman said. Suez water company crews are working to repair the break, near 287 Kettle Creek Road, Jane Kunka said. The repair could take several hours, she said. Residents from Pine Crest, Kettle Creek, Green Island to Sunset Boulevard and Andrew Point will have a temporary interruption of water service or low water pressure until the repair is complete, Kunka said. The Toms River Police Department on site with detours established for crews to work safely. Once water is restored, residents who notice slight discoloration are asked to run a cold tap, from the lowest point in the house, such as the bathtub on the lower floor, until the water runs clear. "Suez apologizes for this inconvenience and thanks its residents for their patience during the emergency repair," Kunka said. Have a friend who loves staying on top of what's happening in Toms River?
