Description

Human rights across disciplines and decolonizing the classroom Join members of the BLM @ Drake Planning Committee, and other members of the campus community, for a panel on the importance of human rights across disciplines and decolonizing the classroom at various levels. Please gather in Cowles Library Reading Room, Friday, April 15, about 10 - 15 minutes before noon. Following the panel, faculty and staff will breakout into a session to discuss tangible ways to implement these lessons into their own classrooms and syllabi! For this we ask faculty to bring a sample syllabus from one of their own classes. Students will also breakout into their own space to discuss how they contribute to a culture of belonging in the classroom, through a framework of decolonization. Both groups will then reunite for a brief closing session to discuss takeaways and action steps! Please arrive at Cowles Readign Room 10 - 15 minutes early.
