SARASOTA, FL — A motorcyclist was killed after hitting a curb on Beneva Road and flipping over early Sunday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a new release. The driver, a 25-year-old Sarasota man, was heading south on Beneva Road, north of Hacienda Street, around 12:45 a.m. when he traveled off the road and hit a raised curb, FHP said. He was thrown from the motorcycle when it overturned. He was brought to Sarasota Memorial Hospital in critical condition and died later on Sunday, FHP said. The investigation remains ongoing.
