NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from April 4 through April 10. The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt. Incidents Someone was issued an appearance ticket for littering at Steers Beach on April 4.A woman was warned and admonished by police for walking in the street on Main Street on April 4.A burning odor was reported from a Steers Avenue home on April 7. The smell was from a smoldering candle.A driver was issued a parking summons for parking in a permit-only space when they did not have the proper permit at Trinity Episcopal Church on April 8.A driver was issued a parking summons for parking in a permit-only space when they did not have the proper permit at Trinity Episcopal Church on April 9.Three vehicles on Chestnut Circle and Laurel Avenue appeared to be tampered with and were possibly missing items from inside them on April 10.A vehicle was broken into and left open overnight on Oak Street, a resident reported to police on April 10. The woman said she found her vehicle doors open and some items from the glove box on the passenger seat. She also said she found the driver's seat and floor wet with an unknown liquid. No items were stolen, and no security camera footage was available.A man on April 10 reported his vehicle was broken into overnight on Laurel Street. The man said someone went into his vehicle, which was unlocked, and looked through his center console. The only item the man says was possibly taken was a paper golf score book.
