The Course at Wente Vineyards is looking for a 2022 summer Intern for the Golf Maintenance Department. The candidate should be currently enrolled or have recently completed a Turf, Soil Science, Horticulture or related field degree/certification program. This is a unique opportunity for someone to learn more about the successful running and maintenance of a professionally run Golf Course. Score! ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Interns will be trained on the following tasks and f activities: 1. Programming and scheduling irrigation 2. Troubleshooting and making irrigation repairs 3. Golf course setup 4. Mowing greens, tees, approaches, collars, fairways, roughs, etc. 5. Spot watering greens, tees, and fairways 6. Assisting in pesticide and fertilizer applications. 7. Developing daily work schedules and an introduction to developing an Agronomic Program 8. Introduction to developing operational and capital budgets. 9. Preparing for and effectively running meetings. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS: An enthusiastic attitude, excited to work in the industry and views this Internship as a career opportunity. Must have a positive, can-do attitude, with a willingness to work early morning and weekend hours. Golf Course maintenance experience preferred but not required. COMPENSATION: $17-20/hour.
