SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A Kings Park man who had been missing since March 20 was found dead, Suffolk police announced Tuesday.
Trevor Verga, 45, was found off Piper Lane in Head of the Harbor around 5:40 p.m. Saturday, police said. Verga's cause of death appears to be non-criminal, police said.
Verga last spoke to a family member on the phone on March 20, police said. He was reported missing by a family member that afternoon.
Verga's 2019 Dodge Ram was found in the parking lot of 500 E. Long Beach Road, Nissequogue. Video surveillance from the parking lot shows a man matching Verga's description exiting the vehicle at approximately 2:30 a.m., police said.
Verga was a cardiologist with North Suffolk Cardiology in Setauket, according to his page on Stony Brook Medicine. He specialized in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular disease. Verga joined North Suffolk Cardiology in 2010 and held five board certifications, including internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear medicine, echocardiography and cardiac electrophysiology.
