The Maintenance Assistant Director, in coordination with other Facilities Staff, is responsible for the operation, repair and maintenance of King County facilities. This position has a social justice component that requires critical thinking through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty. Knowing the core principles of antiracism and grounding those principles in everyday work are required job skills and core values. As an equal opportunity employer, we highly encourage people of color to apply. -Hires, supervises, trains and evaluates general maintenance personnel -Schedules, coordinates and supervises activities of maintenance staff and certain building contractors, including a 24/7 emergency response/on-call system -Works closely with housing and services staff, takes a leadership role in coordinating staff and vendors to make vacant units ready for new resident move-ins within scheduled timelines -Implements preventative maintenance plan for properties, in coordination with Facilities Technicians -Assists with all processes related to pest control efforts including, resident, client, and staff education, and scheduling inspections and treatments -Works directly with Facilities Director and\or Facilities Technicians to coordinate major repairs and capital improvements of properties -Ensures timely completion of work orders In accordance with COVID-19 safety practices, YWCA has a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, and all new hires need to be fully vaccinated prior to their first day of employment.
