GREENWICH, CT — The man who was fatally struck by a Metro-North train at the Greenwich Train Station Sunday morning has been identified as Tyrell Kelvin Grant, 26, of Manhattan, according to Aaron Donavan, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Donovan said that based on the initial investigation, the MTA Police are investigating the incident as non-accidental, non-criminal in nature.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. Sunday, the MTA said, when police responded to a report of "an unauthorized person on or near the tracks near Greenwich."
The train involved was the 9:59 a.m. train to Grand Central Terminal. That train was delayed by 45 minutes, the MTA said on Twitter.
There were additional delays between Rye and Greenwich.
The MTA Police are investigating. The Greenwich Police Department provided initial assistance on Sunday.
