WINCHESTER, CA — A large two-story home caught fire overnight in Winchester, Cal Fire/ Riverside County Firefighters said.
Shortly before midnight, firefighters arrived at the 35000 block of Waimea Way in Winchester to find to find smoke and flames erupting from the second story of the home, according to reports.
The fire was confined to one room, which was fully engulfed in flames, according to department spokeswoman April Newman. A huge amount of smoke filled the home and ballooned over the residence. Firefighters took approximately two hours to fully extinguish the blaze.
Six adults were displaced in the fire and they made their own accomodations for relocation, Newma said, as the home suffered "heavy smoke damage."
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
