BROOKLYN, NY — A person of interest named in Tuesday's Brooklyn train station shooting rented a U-Haul in Philadelphia Monday, and a key to that truck was found at the scene of the crime, according to authorities. The New York Police Department released a photo Tuesday evening of a man sought in connection with the shooting, which left 10 people shot and 17 injured. The NYPD named him as Frank James. Photo courtesy of NYPD "This is Frank James," NYPD tweeted out around 7 p.m. on Tuesday. "He is a person of interest in the shooting that took place on the N train in Brooklyn Tuesday morning. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call NYPDTips at 1-800-577-TIPS." A U-Haul, rented in Philadelphia, was linked to the James and was located Tuesday afternoon in Gravesend, police said. He also has made multiple "concerning" social media posts, involving homelessness, New York, and Mayor Eric Adams, police said. Adams' security detail has been upped. NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig also announced Tuesday evening that the shooter fired his gun 33 times in the attack, striking at least 10 people. He added that later in the day investigators found a handgun, three extended magazines, two detonated smoke grenades, two non-detonated smoke grenades and a hatchet at the crime scene.
