Description
MISSION VIEJO, CA — A big development project in Mission Viejo will be discussed at Monday's Planning and Transportation Commission Meeting, as commission members consider a potential zoning change for the Gardens property project.
This comes after Mission Viejo's City Council voted unanimously to deny property owners ValueRock Realty zone change request for the proposed project at the corner of La Paz and Marguerite.
ValueRock Realty proposes to demolish the existing 46,148 square-feet of building area to make room for The Gardens, a project with five upper stories and 234 apartment units, over 600 parking spaces and 48,000 square-feet of retail, according to a city staff report.
The project was neither initiated nor promoted by the City of Mission Viejo, a spokesperson with the city said. Residents interested in learning more about the project can visit the city's website.
Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting and share their opinions with members of the commission. The Planning and Transportation Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday in City Hall's Council Chamber, 200 Civic Center.
Residents can receive updates about this project by signing up for the city's eNewsletter and select The Gardens Mixed-use Project Application newsletter.
