TUSCALOOSA, AL — No one was injured Monday morning when a Chevrolet Traverse became stuck in a sinkhole that has been a nagging problem for some time off of Rice Mine Road.

Tuscaloosa Police Department spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor said TPD, Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Service and the Tuscaloosa Department of Transportation responded to the call at Afflink Place just before 10 a.m. and assisted the driver in getting out of the vehicle.
Thankfully, traffic will not be drastically impacted in the area, as the sinkhole is between the Afflink building and Express Oil Change.
Sandbags have been placed out around the sinkhole — which was previously thought to have been repaired — and TPD officers were on the scene following the incident.
