BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Two Baltimore County residents were among 21 people in Maryland who died from the new coronavirus, state health officials reported Wednesday. Overall 124 deaths statewide have been linked to COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the virus, according to the Maryland Department of Health. A woman in her 60s and a man older than 80 are the latest Baltimore County residents whose lives were lost to the illness, officials said. In all, 13 Baltimore County residents have died from the virus as of Wednesday, April 8, according to state health authorities. The most cases are in Prince George's (1,310) and Montgomery (1,088) counties, with Baltimore County home to the third highest concentration of confirmed coronavirus cases in the state. Prince George's County has reported the most deaths with 32 so far from COVID-19, trailed by Montgomery County with 26, Carroll County with 18, Baltimore County with 13, Anne Arundel County with 11 and Baltimore City with 10. Other counties where people have died from the virus in Maryland include Frederick, with four deaths; Howard with three deaths; Calvert and Charles counties with two deaths each; and Cecil, Talbot and Wicomico, where one person died in each county.
