PERRY HALL, MD — Christmas and New Year's Day fall on Fridays this year. While the White Marsh Mall will be closed for Christmas, it will be open on Friday, Jan. 1. Because of the coronavirus, some stores and restaurants are offering curbside pickup and spot-holding services. For visits with Santa at the White Marsh Mall or ice skating and movie theater viewing within The Avenue at White Marsh, people are advised to sign up in advance. Santa is taking reservations Wednesday, up until 3:45 p.m., at the mall. Face coverings are required for people age 2 and up. Due to the coronavirus, children will not sit on Santa's lap but may talk with him from a distance about their holiday wishes. People can also arrange for a virtual visit with Santa through Jingle Ring, an online service that costs at least $24.95 for a time slot.
