SUMMIT, NJ — Katherine Dunn of Summit has always treasured her grandfather's ring. It had a "K" in it for his name, Edward Frank Kennedy. Kennedy, a World War II Navy veteran, died in 2006 in South Amboy at the age of 87. Dunn was frustrated that she managed to lose the ring in downtown Summit recently. She posted on Patch on Thursday to offer a $1,000 reward for its return. She told Patch over the weekend, "This ring meant everything to me and I'm still hopeful it is out there somewhere! The center stone is a black tiger eye, almost looks like onyx and there are three very small diamonds on each side of the stone. The interior of the band also has a 'K' faintly engraved for Kennedy, which was my grandfather's last name." She added, "I'm fairly certain it fell off near Winberie's in Summit somewhere from the restaurant to the parking garage. We will absolutely offer a $1k reward to the individual that finds and returns it." If you have information, please contact [email protected]. Got Summit news? Email [email protected].
