Description

Hard as this is, we are rehoming one of our dogs. Our situation just isn't working out for her. Rita is two years old, spayed and housebroken. She is a Great Dane/Mastiff cross about 95 pounds. She is a fun dog, very energetic, loves to run and play! She adores people, and while she's shy initially, she warms up quickly and loves her people!!! She is ok with confident cats. But if it's a scaredy cat who runs, she WILL give chase! We are only looking for a new home for her because she is unpredictable with our other dogs. Everything will be fine for days, and then a fight breaks out over a toy, a favorite bed, or whatever. Now we live around baby gates, and have to crate our older dogs when we're not home so everyone stays safe. Our 15yo lab mix had to go to urgent care after the last incident, and it's not fair to her to live out her last days like this. Rita will stay in a crate, but prefers not to, and has been known to escape. She also counter surfs and will take for herself whatever objects or food she finds interesting. She needs a home with people who have time to wear off her excess energy. A tired dog is a good dog! Are you a jogger? Perfect! Older kids would be great for her! But she is a LOT of dog, and I won't rehome her to anyone with small children. And no other dogs. Sorry for the long post. If anyone is interested, I'll be glad to answer all your questions. Please READ this post b4 you ask. And if you aren't able to invest the time she needs, then don't ask. I already made that mistake. For her sake, let's not repeat it. Oh, and I will need a vet reference. There is a reasonable rehoming fee, which is negotiable for the right person for her. Thanks for reading.
