Description

Looking for a casual encounter just fun Let's do this. ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' 24 year old guy, just moved to Boise. I've been playing acoustic guitar for a few years, but not much jam/improv style stuff. Looking for somebody to casually jam with and get better, open to any skill levels OK, its a high bar, but... recent Bay Area transplant misses jamming with his deep funk bands... "The Zins" were Tower of Power, AWB, John Cleary, LTD, Steely Dan, Santana, Spencer Davis, War, etc This band was at the top of our game and then I moved (escaped) here to amazing Idaho. I'm now looking for an accomplished SAX player & bass player, possibly percussion as well to recreate this band. I have two REAL vintage 1946 & 1953 Hammond B3's + Leslies (one in Wilder, one in Eagle), and a Nord Stage 3 AND I have the chops to pull it off (once I dust them off!). Each rehearsal spot has a professional drum kit, Mesa boogie bass rig and pro sound system. And a singing drummer and guitar player who are both very accomplished. I’m a guitar player looking for a singer, preferably female as I’ve mostly worked women as lead singers in music groups, to perform at open mics and other venues. Also, another guitarist for added chord blends, playing melody, blues and rock riffs, bass lines, etc will be cool- hopefully a guitarist that can ‘switch parts’ between rhythm and melody and riffs. Also, other musicians who might be interested-bass, keyboards, drums- and I play drums with a set at home. I am looking to put together my fifth and final ska project. I am a seasoned guitar player and well versed at playing every incarnation/wave of ska music there is. From Jamaican ska of the 60s to punk ska and everything in between. I'm 42 years old and there are a couple bassists and drummers in my circle who would be interested in putting this together provided we find the right female vocalist and trombone and tenor sax players. I'll certainly take a Hammond with a Leslie any day as well :) Odds are this will never happen and that's ok, it is asking a lot for a guitarist who is a bit seasoned but not Pro. Working on songs and getting them right is important even if it's just for fun. We play old standards and originals, mainly at night clubs. We enjoy playing. Practice 2-3 times/wk. Playing more gigs soon. If you are reliable, and willing to learn if necessary, contact us.
