Become a gardener with Earth Song Gardening! Job description: Seeking one or more gardeners to engage in a variety of tasks, including planting, weeding, mulching, and more, from May - October. Full season preferred but partial season considered. Work will take place at a variety of mainly residential garden sites in the Upper Valley (currently mostly in Norwich, Hanover and Lebanon) and will include perennial gardening, as well as vegetable gardening in some cases. 10 - 30 hours/week (agreed upon prior to hiring) with some seasonal variation, possibly more hours if doing some independent work. Starting pay $16 - $24, based on experience and qualifications. Responsibilities: - Help with tasks including planting and transplanting, weeding, mulching, fertilizing, pruning, and more - Work in various seasons and most weather conditions - Work on feet for up to several hours at a time, including standing, squatting, and kneeling - Safely use a variety of hand tools such as rakes, clippers, and shovels - Work in a focused, efficient yet thorough manner - Lift up to 50 lbs at times by hand or heavier loads in a wheelbarrow - Communicate in a friendly and respectful manner with clients and co-workers Additional qualifications sought: - Experience with perennial gardening, vegetable farming or related field preferred - Good work ethic: reliable, punctual, hard-working - Strong teamwork and communication skills - Ability to work independently preferred (after training) - Attention to detail - Personal vehicle and valid driver's license (necessary for season as a whole, though carpooling may be an option at times) - Non-smoker To apply, send a resume, cover letter, and contact information for three references (preferred: at least two from current or former employers) to me at [email protected].
