East Haven Coronavirus Update: 210 Active Cases

EAST HAVEN, CT — The Connecticut Department of Public Health has confirmed there are 210 cases of the new coronavirus in East Haven as of Sunday, seven more than Saturday. For the first time since the pandemic broke out Connecticut saw a decline in hospitalizations by 18 on Saturday and on Sunday there was another decline of 37 hospitalizations. Officials have said we'll need to see a decline in new hospital admissions for a 14-day period before the state could begin to seriously consider reopening at least in a phased in approach. Overall there are 17,962 confirmed positive coronavirus cases in Connecticut and an increase of 412 over the past 24 hours. An additional 41 deaths were reported bring that total to 1,127 and the number of hospitalizations declined by 37 and is now at 1,901.
