EAST HAVEN, CT — The annual Summer Concert Series on the Town Green is on.
"While many towns canceled their events," Mayor Joseph A. Carfora said, he "did not want to make any decisions due to the COVID-19 being as fluid as it is."
"After reviewing with East Shore District Health, the procedures the town has in place to safely hold these events, we have been given the green light to proceed," Carfora said.
The free concerts are Sundays at 6 p.m. beginning July 12.
But, there are rules.
Attendees "must follow the CDC and East Shore District Health guidelines," he said.
Summer Concert Series on the Town Green 2020 rules:
Those attending must keep their lawn chairs/ blankets a minimum of 15 feet apart from those not part of your group. Wearing of masks while walking around the green is a must. While walking around the green, a minimum of 6 feet social distancing must be followed. Portable toilets will be provided with handwashing stations. The town says, concert-goers may bring lawn chairs or blankets. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Trash cans will be placed throughout the Green, so, Carfora says, "Please do your part and dispose of your garbage properly."
