Description

Theory & practical educational workshop designed for coaches and sport scientists working with team sports. Our world class practitioners will unravel the science on deceleration and provide attendees with practical ways to apply it within rehabilitation and performance contexts. With the inclusion of the LEDSREACT, you will learn how to “test and train” speed and change of direction, in an innovative, engaging hassle free way. There are no other tools in the world that allow practitioners to do this in group settings, so this is sure to be an eye opening day. Damian Harper will present some of his latest research covering the demands of horizontal declaration , what underpinning qualities are needed , along with practical training examples that can be used by practitioners to enhance their athletes horizontal deceleration and braking performance capabilities. Mark Jamison’s presentation will challenge us to rethink the return to play process, by providing a framework for optimising the transition from training to sport. This model utilises objective feedback to ensure appropriate physical preparedness and a multi-domain approach to enhance game speed, decision making abilities and cognitive readiness. Ruth Waghorn will focus in on physical development for soccer. Her presentation will explore the methods used to help players thrive rather than just survive the high intensity actions occurring in the game. Jonas Dodoo will present on developing your coaching eye, what to look at, what to ignore and how to measure what you see. By the end of the day attendees will have deeper understanding of “Braking strength”, have a list of progressions and regressions of how to coach it in the gym and on the field, as well as be better prepared to coach towards a more efficient movement pattern.
