Description

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS Day 1 Families Fund Breaking the Cycle: Reducing Family Homelessness in Indianapolis In 2020, CHIP was awarded $1.25 million dollars from the Day 1 Families Fund. Of this award, $1 million will be re-distributed to community-based organizations pursuing solutions to family homelessness, in Indianapolis, through a competitive process. CHIP recognizes the significance of having a thorough understanding of family homelessness, best practices, gaps in the overall system, and a coordinated and targeted strategy that focuses on permanent solutions. CHIP hopes to support the broader community to develop innovative interventions, to expand or scale current high-performing interventions, and to encourage cross-system interventions to reduce family homelessness and to move the needle on the shared vision that “everyone has the right to be housed and connected to care.” Launched by Jeff Bezos in 2018, the Day 1 Families Fund has issued 130 grants totaling $398 million to organizations in 38 states. Born out of the vision from Mary’s Place in Seattle that “no child sleeps outside”, the Day 1 Families Fund aims to support organizations doing compassionate, needle-moving work to address the needs of families and children experiencing homelessness. We are hosting a Q & A session for Indianapolis non profit organizations who are interested in applying for the Day 1 Families Fund. Clarification of terms and conditions of the RFP document and RFP process and all other inquiries shall be directed to Christy Gelback-Diaz, Director of Finance & Operations, [email protected].
