HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, CarePoint Health, which owns the hospitals in Bayonne, Hoboken and Christ Hospital in the Jersey City Heights, is doing its seventh annual Mammogram-A-thon events throughout the month of October.
In partnership with the Madelaine LoRay Foundation, they are providing a comprehensive range of early detection and prevention programs for breast cancer including mammograms, clinical breast exams and cancer education.
The hospital accepts uninsured, self-pay, charity care and all insurances. These are the dates for free breast cancer screenings:
Christ Hospital: Oct. 23, 29 (8 a.m. - 4 p.m.), 24 (9 a.m. - 1 p.m.)Bayonne Medical Center: Oct. 21, 24 (8 a.m. - 4 p.m.)Hoboken University Medical Center: Oct. 20, 27 (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) The number to call to pre-register or schedule is 201-418-3220.
Also this past Sunday, Oct. 18 Hudson Regional Hospital in Secaucus gave out free clinical breast exams. Those who needed further tests were given prescriptions to come in for a mammogram.
