SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus police, all of last week's arrests: On Oct. 5 at 11:01 a.m., in furtherance of an investigation being conducted by the Secaucus Police Department Detective Division in regards to an incident that occurred on Aug. 19 in which a vehicle failed to stop during a motor vehicle stop being conducted by the Secaucus Police, the police arrested a 24-year-old male, Xavier Ramos of New York, NY and charged him with Eluding [2C:29-2B]. Mr. Ramos was taken into custody at Secaucus Police Headquarters. Mr. Ramos was served his complaint warrant, was issued 15 motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail. On Oct. 6 at 11:05 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 44-year-old male, Carswell Walker of Jersey City, NJ for two outstanding warrants issued out of Jersey City, NJ with no bail. Mr. Walker was issued three motor vehicle summonses and officers from the Jersey City Police Department responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters to take custody of Mr. Walker for transport to their agency. On Oct. 6 at 7:17 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 26-year-old female, Christina Torres of Rahway, NJ and charged her with Possession of CDS believed to be Marijuana [2C:35-10A(4)] and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Ms. Torres was issued her complaint summons along with two motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody. On Oct. 7 at 10:25 a.m., in furtherance of an investigation being conducted by the Secaucus Police Department Detective Division for an incident of motor vehicle theft that occurred on June 27 of this year, the police arrested a 59-year-old female, Maria Reyes-Chavalier of Paterson, NJ and charged her with Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3A(5)] and Conspiracy [2C:5-2A(1)]. Ms. Reyes-Chavalier was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody. On Oct. 8 at 12:10 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 33-year-old male, Jovanni Sanes of Guttenberg, NJ for one outstanding warrant issued out of Weehawken, NJ in the amount of $124.00. Mr. Sanes was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued one motor vehicle summons and was released from police custody. On Oct. 8 at 8:45 p.m., in furtherance of an investigation being conducted by the Secaucus Police Department Detective Division in regards to burglaries that occurred at Poke Bros and Firenza Pizza, both located at 700 Plaza Drive and the Vitamin Shoppe, located at 300 Harmon Meadow Boulevard, all on Oct. 5, Secaucus police responded to the West New York Police Department and took into custody a 55-year-old male, Richard Medina of West New York, NJ. He was charged with Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)], Theft [2C:20-3A] and Burglar Tools [2C:5-5A(1)] for the incident that occurred at Poke Bros. Mr. Medina was further charged with Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)], Theft [2C:20-3A] and Burglar Tools [2C:5-5A(1)] for the incident that occurred at Firenza Pizza and Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)], Burglar Tools [2C:5-5A(1)] and Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)] for the incident that occurred at the Vitamin Shoppe. Mr. Medina was served three complaint warrants and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail. On Oct. 9 at 5:11 p.m., Secaucus police observed individuals crossing the area of Park Plaza Drive and Harmon Meadow Boulevard failing to yield to passing vehicles. During the investigation, the police arrested a 28-year-old female, Hailey Guerrero of Jersey City, NJ for one outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $500 and one outstanding warrant issued out of Union City, NJ in the amount of $500. Ms. Guerrero was unable to post bail for the involved warrants, was issued one summons and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail. On Oct. 10 at 3:58 p.m., Secaucus police responded to Walmart located at 400 Park Plaza Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, police arrested a 29-year-old female, Shaneequa Weaver of Brooklyn, NY and charged her with Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(4)]. Ms. Weaver was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody. On Oct. 10 at 7:42 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 24-year-old male, Steven Severino of Secaucus, NJ and charged him with Possession of CDS believed to be Marijuana [2C:35-10A(4)] and Resisting Arrest [2C:29-2A(1)]. Mr. Severino was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody. On Oct. 11 at 4:43 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 23-year-old male, Christian Lopez of New York, NY for Possession of CDS believed to be Marijuana [2C:35 10A(4)], Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2] and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, a wooden billy club [2C:39-5D]. Mr. Lopez was served his complaint summons along with four motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
