SECAUCUS, NJ — A Secaucus woman and her 13-year-old child were struck by a car backing out of a driveway in the North End section of town Thursday afternoon, and they both are currently hospitalized. This happened at 3:18 p.m. in the area of Valley Court and James Place. A 42-year-old woman and her 13-year-old son, both from Secaucus, were walking along the sidewalk when a neighbor's car drove out of a driveway and struck both of them, said police. Both the woman and her son were treated at the scene and were transported to Hackensack University Medical Center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. They were both admitted and remain at the hospital as of Friday. The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with the police. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Secaucus Traffic Bureau. At this time, charges have not been filed against the driver.
