Secaucus Tinted Windows Car Stop Leads To Loaded Gun, Police Say

SECAUCUS, NJ — A car stop this past Saturday afternoon for tinted windows in Secaucus led to police recovering a loaded illegal handgun, said Secaucus police. The man arrested was not licensed to have the gun, said police. At 12:56 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 Secaucus Police Officer Michael Borrelli stopped the car on Paterson Plank Road and First Street for having tinted windows. Having front tinted windows is illegal in New Jersey. During the stop, the officer became aware that the driver possessed a loaded semi-automatic handgun, directly next to the driver's seat. The gun had a 30-magazine inserted within, loaded twenty-three .45 caliber bullets. The driver, Christopher Ray, 29 of District Heights, Maryland was arrested. Ray was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun and unlawful possession of high-capacity magazine. He was taken to the Hudson County jail.
